In 2023, Lytx continued to innovate with the release of our customers’ top-priority product enhancements and features. Here are the top five product releases of the year that can help power your fleet forward in 2024 and beyond!

1. Lytx SF500 with Daimler Truck North America new models

The new Lytx SF500 DriveCam^® device is built to transform your fleet. For fleet and safety leaders seeking to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and ease of purchasing, the Lytx SF500 offers a pre-built integration directly into select Daimler trucks, including new 2024 M2, and SD/SD+ models as well as the Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star X-series line of 47x, 49x, and 57x trucks built in early 2023.

2. Lytx Lab: Weather Hazard Alerts

Lytx Weather Hazard Alerts in Lytx Lab’s Unified Map allow fleet managers the option to get email notifications based on geospatial criteria and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather data. This data can facilitate real-time decision-making for safer and more efficient driving for your drivers and technicians. The weather conditions include 20+ weather types based on NOAA alerts, including wind, storm, and visibility. We’ve added filtering options for specific weather conditions and the time of day the user wants to be notified*. Other notable highlights of this feature include:

• The filter allows clients to receive alerts only if they have a vehicle(s) inside the weather condition area or a customizable distance outside it.

• Based on customer feedback, we added the Time Window feature, allowing the user to limit notifications to the user’s selected work hours (aka “don’t send while I’m sleeping”).

*Any users with notifications previously enabled who want to use these new filters will need to delete the original subscriptions and re-add a new one.

3. Lytx DVIR Service enhancements

Driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) provide an excellent way to ensure fleets and vehicles stay operational and in compliance. Since the initial launch in 2022, Lytx has added new enhancements to the easily customizable checklist to provide a more thorough and proactive reporting experience. New additions include:

• Walkaround photos give managers a more complete 360-degree view of the vehicle's current condition.

• Multiple inspection lists allow managers the flexibility for periodic supplemental inspections.

• Email notifications provide managers with optional proactive and customized email notifications.

• Scheduler enhancement offers flexibility and customization when scheduling periodic inspections.

• Tablet optimization helps drivers using tablets have an improved viewing and user experience with workflows and functions.

4. Coaching Effectiveness calculation change

After a successful experiment in Lytx Lab, the 60-day coaching effectiveness calculation moved into all applicable reports in the Lytx Driver Safety Program this past summer. The Coaching Effectiveness score, available at both coach and group levels, helps gauge managers' performance in coaching their drivers. The score compares the number of behaviors a manager has coached with the number of behaviors their drivers have repeated within the past 60 days. With the updated calculation, a time reduction factor has been added to reward drivers who have not repeated the behavior more recently. As time passes, older instances of repeated behaviors are weighted less.

5. Lytx Installation Application: Self-install improvements

The Lytx Installation Application is an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly tool that speeds up DriveCam SF-Series Event Recorder installations and automatically syncs to your Lytx Account. Lytx has added a new enhancement to revisit a workflow if installers need to return to a specific part of the installation process. To enhance efficiency in troubleshooting issues, installers can now easily skip to the desired step they seek, including

• Connectivity Check

• Camera View

• Measurements

• Signal Validation (if applicable)

• Hub

Self-installs are also now available for heavy-duty vehicles with J1939 9-pin and 16-pin cables, making it an easier installation process and supporting two-way ECM versus the CAN coupler’s read-only. Moving forward, these default cables will be shipped to self-install clients and replace the legacy CAN coupler.

Staying proactive with your Lytx Account amplifies a safety culture for your business. Subscribing to these operational systems outside of your Lytx Account will ensure a proactive stance on using data to make informed decisions and knowing the current status of your Lytx applications.

A. System Status page

Immediately know when a Lytx system is down by subscribing to Lytx system operational status notifications. You can also find this page inside the Support Center on the “System Status” tab.

B. Lytx Intelligence℠ Portal

Have you ever wondered how your organization compares against your industry peers? When and where do drivers experience the highest number of risks? Do you need more insights to determine resource allocation?

Data provides the source of truth for many industry leaders who need to make informed decisions on how to manage their businesses. The Lytx Intelligence Portal provides an additional wealth of data that can help you to manage your business.

The portal is available for Lytx Account users with one of the following roles: Full Access, Safety Manager, Safety Read Only, or Coach. Roles are assigned at the company level. Users without access can gain it by reaching out to their program administrator.

Here are the steps to access:

1. Go to intel.lytx.com

2. Provide your Lytx Account username and password

3. Select “login”

This report leveraged the Lytx Driver Safety Program and over 36 billion miles of new driving data (over 221 billion miles total) and can help fleets reduce costs, improve driver and road safety, and increase operational efficiency.
