    Lytx Top Five of 2024

As a global leader in video safety and video telematics, Lytx® has spent more than 25 years providing customers with the tools they need to manage and protect all their assets in motion.

Throughout 2024, we introduced new technology advancements and innovations that addressed some of our customers’ high-priority needs. Here are our favorite top five product releases of the year that can help protect and power your organization:

    1. Empower safety managers with self-serve coaching tools

Coaching just got faster and more flexible. Our new self-serve capabilities put you in the driver’s seat, eliminating the need to wait for Lytx Support to adjust behaviors on events. Now, you can directly add or remove behaviors on events and update coaching actions—like switching between face-to-face coaching and FYI notifications—right from your Lytx account.

These real-time controls allow you to tailor your coaching program to meet your fleet’s unique needs, freeing you up to focus on what matters most: improving safety and reducing risk.

    2. Keep drivers safe with expanded Road Conditions options

Optimize routes and protect drivers from worst-case weather scenarios with the new ability to get more detail from the Lytx camera network. The Road Conditions feature in Lytx Lab now includes “icy” and “low visibility” (such as foggy), helping managers re-route when necessary while helping to ensure drivers are prepared for what lies ahead. This reduces collisions and vehicle repairs, as well as saves lives.

    3. Dynamic Adjust offers options in Illinois

The configurability of the new Dynamic Adjust for Illinois Restrictions feature helps customers choose how best to protect their fleets in Illinois, where there has been a surge in class action lawsuits against companies using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

When Dynamic Adjust for Illinois Restrictions is enabled, a custom geofence is created around the borders of Illinois. When a vehicle crosses the Illinois geofence, in-cab machine vision and artificial intelligence (MV+AI) is disabled. This includes functionality used to detect distracted driving behaviors—such as cell phone use and smoking—as well as the associated visual and audio alerts, event detection, and continuous data collection. When a vehicle exits the Illinois geofence, these in-cab MV+AI features are dynamically re-enabled. In-cab video is still recorded (if configured to do so), enabling clients to access in-cab video using Lytx Video Search.

    4. Simplify compliance with DVIR and ELD enhancements

Customers can more easily file their quarterly International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reports. Lytx ELD Service offers automated IFTA mileage reporting**, which helps reduce the risk of errors and overpayment. Customers simply merge the IFTA-compliant mileage report with their fuel records (receipts, fuel card, etc.) before filing with their state government.

Another way to simplify compliance is to reduce the likelihood of pencil-whipping in asset inspections. Customers of the Lytx ELD Service or Lytx DVIR Service can now help ensure vehicle inspections are given the attention they deserve, which can result in savings on vehicle maintenance and downtime. The new inspection duration metric reveals how much time was spent assessing vehicle health and helps managers identify opportunities for coaching.

    5. Get more control and autonomy in the Enterprise-grade Driver App

Big operations with in-house resources no longer need Lytx to be the middleman on their corporate devices. Enterprise customers can now receive updates and mass-install the Lytx Driver App, centrally controlling their own device applications. This saves time and fosters efficiency, ensuring large-scale rollouts happen when and how your organization prefers.
